Aerial view of the China Poot Bay estuary. The
lodge is on the island-peninsula to the left.

Bring casual clothing for temperatures ranging from 40 to 65 degrees. Multiple layers are best. Hat, light gloves, good rain gear, and warm socks to wear in the rubber boots we have for you, are important.

Also useful are binoculars, camera with extra film and batteries, sunglasses, sunscreen, medicines, small daypack, and your own liquor. Traveler’s checks or cash are needed for extra charters, licenses, and staff gratuity.

Delightful overlook from
a hiking trail

Weather is moderate, with some over-cast days. May through September is mild, with an average of 16 to 18 hours of daylight. Afternoon ocean day breezes on sunny days may be cool so bring a lined jacket and windbreaker. Insects are minimal, but June can have some mosquitoes.

There is a very friendly black lab at the lodge who can't wait to go hiking with you.
