We respond to your interests and abilities with daily custom tailored experiences. Our Alaskan resident naturalist guides will accompany you.

•  Our hiking trails range from an easy walking trail to a challenging hike. Your naturalist guide will take you on hikes to glaciers or to hidden lakes for rainbow trout fishing. Follow ancient game trails to overlooks where you may see seabirds, eagles, sea otter and seals. The marine life, birds and wildlife are in abundance.

 •  Day excursions by motorized boat with a licensed lodge guide can be taken to view teeming sea bird rookeries, sea otter colonies and seal haul-outs. We're always watching for whales.

 •  Even beginners can sea kayak with instructive guides in top-of-the-line, safe, stable, Seda kayaks. Cruise the quiet bays and coves of our estuary and visit the nearby sea-bird rookery.

Hike through wild flower gardens

 •  Enjoy a boating excursion to Halibut Cove, a small island artists' community where "the streets are paved with water". There is an excellent local artist gallery to visit. You may see eagles, seabirds and marine mammals enroute.

 •  If the tides are right during your visit (during the weeks of a full moon and new moon) you can explore the tide pools teeming with abundant marine life, octopus and colorful sea stars. Gather blue mussels and dig clams for dinner.

 •  Interpretive walks can be taken with a staff archaeologist to nearby fascinating sites to view the semi-subterranean dwellings, homes of the ancient residents.

 •  Nature walks occur with staff to forest wildflower gardens, to berry-picking patches or to beach comb the long curving sandbars.

 •  Guided estuary fishing is offered for sea run dolly varden char, silver salmon and flounder, depending on the fishing run and the time of summer you visit us. The chef can prepare them for your dinner if you wish.

 •  Optional seaplane flights or helicopter tours are available for glacier viewing, and brown bear viewing. These are available at additional cost from Emerald Air Service, Inc. and Maritime Helicopters.

  •  Gentle yoga and stretching may be available 2 days of the week with a certified yoga instructor. Enjoy an afternoon or evening sauna and outdoor hot tub to end a perfect day.

 •  Curl up with a good book in front of the fireplace or relax on the comfortable docks and decks.

•  Evening hors d’oeuvres are accompanied by fine wines and local beers on the dock. We feature fresh mussels, clams, oysters, crab, and fish.

•  Heli-hiking alpine meadows above timberline with a guide is an additional expense.
